Digital Signage and E-Ink Room Signs for Business
Digital Signage, Installed and Managed
Triton Technologies installs and manages digital signage for businesses across the Northeast: lobby screens, menu boards, break room and production floor displays, and e-ink room signs beside meeting room doors.
We plan the screens, the network they run on and the software that feeds them, then keep all three running. Your staff change the content from a web browser.
E-Ink Conference Room Signs That Update From Your Calendar
An e-ink conference room sign is a small e-paper display mounted beside the door that shows who has the room and when. Triton connects each sign to the room calendar in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or another booking workflow, so a meeting booked in Outlook appears on the door without anyone touching the sign.
The sign above shows the board of directors, BOD, holding the room on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. E-paper holds its image without power, so the signs run on a battery for months between charges and need no outlet or cable at the door.
Each sign can show:
- The current meeting and the time it ends
- The next booking, or that the room is available
- Only Reserved and the time, for board, HR and legal meetings
- A fixed message on an executive office or restricted area door
Our AI builds the calendar connection for each client through Triton Foundry, our custom software division, and runs it as part of our managed AI services.
OptiSigns and Xibo: Choosing the Signage Platform
OptiSigns is cloud-managed signage software and our usual recommendation. Content is built and scheduled in a web dashboard and plays on Android players, Windows PCs and commercial displays from LG and Samsung, with integrations for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Canva and YouTube. It fits businesses that want screens running quickly with no server to maintain.
Xibo is an open-source signage platform with a web-based content manager that can run on your own server or in Xibo’s cloud, with players for Windows, Linux, Android, LG webOS and Samsung Tizen. It fits organizations that need content and data to stay on infrastructure they control.
We help you choose, then set up the players, layouts, schedules, user permissions and branded content templates.
What Businesses Put on Their Screens
- Reception and lobby screens with welcome messages, company news and visitor information
- Menu boards for restaurants, cafeterias and food service, updated across every location from one dashboard
- Break room and staff screens with safety notices, schedules and announcements
- Production floor and warehouse dashboards showing live numbers from your business systems
- Meeting room and office door signs showing bookings and availability
- Emergency and weather alerts sent to every screen at once
Content is scheduled by time of day, day of week or event, so the breakfast menu changes to lunch on its own and a holiday notice comes down when the holiday ends.
Signage on a Secured Network
Every signage player is a computer connected to your network, and a lobby screen should never become a way in. Triton places signage players and room signs on their own network segment, separated from business systems, behind a Sophos firewall.
We restrict remote management, keep player software and firmware current, and monitor the players with the rest of your environment, so a screen that drops offline is noticed before a customer sees a blank display.
Digital Signage: Common Questions
What does a digital signage company do?
A digital signage company plans, installs and manages the screens, media players and software that put information on displays in your building. Triton chooses the platform with you, installs and connects the screens, sets up layouts and schedules, secures the players on your network and supports your staff when they need to change content.
Do you work with OptiSigns or Xibo?
Both. OptiSigns is our usual recommendation because it is cloud managed, plays on Android players, Windows PCs and commercial displays, and needs no server. Xibo is open source and suits organizations that want the content server on their own infrastructure.
How does an e-ink conference room sign know who booked the room?
Triton connects the sign to the room calendar in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or another booking system. When someone books the room, the sign shows the meeting name, date and time on its next refresh. For Microsoft 365 this uses a read-only calendar permission that your administrator approves.
Do e-ink door signs need an outlet or a network cable?
No. E-paper uses power only when the image changes, so the signs run on a rechargeable battery and connect over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Seeed Studio rates the 2000 mAh battery in its reTerminal E1002 e-paper display at about three months per charge on default settings. Frequent refreshes shorten that.
Can a room sign hide the name of a confidential meeting?
Yes. Each room can show the full meeting title, a short label such as BOD, or only Reserved with the time. Board, HR and legal meetings can be set to show the time only, so the agenda stays inside the room.
Is digital signage a security risk?
It can be. Every signage player is a networked computer, often in a public area. Triton places signage players on their own network segment behind a Sophos firewall, restricts remote management and keeps player software updated, so a screen cannot be used to reach your business systems.
How Triton Delivers
The Sophos XDR Mandate
We deploy Sophos Firewalls as the non-negotiable perimeter standard. Any firm operating without synchronized endpoint protection is an insurance liability. Sophos Endpoint (EDR/XDR) is the mandatory internal security layer.
AWS Scalability
We deploy on AWS because downtime is not an option. When a critical system goes down, AWS support responds with enterprise urgency, not a ticket queue. Every dollar of downtime is a dollar your IT provider owes you an answer for.
The AI Autonomous Advantage
Axiom, Triton’s proprietary AI monitoring system, gives our engineers real-time visibility that off-the-shelf tools cannot replicate. It is not for sale, it is how we deliver.
